Reading notes, week 11 Henderson
David Henderson's poem California 13
The setting of the poem is set through the use of detailed descriptive words
“ facing east above the Berkeley trees”
It seems like Henderson is writing to describe his day through different events and details.
“ cars and trucks appear and disappear”
As I am reading the poem, due to the great use of diction the reader is painted a very clear picture of what the author is explaining, down to every fine detail.
“ the cars are seven-eighths of an inch long”
“ a pedestrian is five-sixteenths of an inch tall”
Cities and locations are brought up all throughout the text. A story of a different point of views and experiences is being discussed.
