Week 13, analysis Vietnam easy
Literary elements and devices in the book Vietnam eazy by Trami Cron used in the reading I explored this week was the use of characters and plot. The sequence of events that occurred in the story influenced the way the characters act and how they development as a person because of the events they have been through. Trami being on the cooking show and different events in her life lead her to find out about the anxiety disorder she had, if it was not for the plot of the story we would never be made aware of the disorder she had which then lead us to gain insight on Vietnamese culture and why health disorders are to ignored and not accepted. The theme of acceptance is heavily talked about in this text. Vietnamese women have to act a certain way and be a certain way to gain acceptance from others and not be frowned upon by others in society. It is hard to gain approval from others so being careful in the way you act and perceive yourself to others is very crucial. Cultural elements play a big role into the characterization and plot development in the story, things play out on the basis of the culture they are apart of and practice which plays a role in why people act the way they do.
Hi Grace! This sounds like a good cultural read, very insightful. I believe you are writing about the author here, right? Is this story written in the first person? Is it a story about the author? I appreciate you breaking down the literary elements and themes being discussed and addressed in this story and how cultural elements help drive the direction of the story.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more about Trami Cron's "Vietnam Easy".
Thank you for sharing!
Hi Grace. I see you've decided to choose a book that I was thinking to choose. What made you decide to choose this book? Also, after reading your analysis I found it interesting that this book focuses on disorders. Does this book focus on just one characters disorder or on more than one? Does it discuss only mental disorders? This book sounds very interesting and I knew it had to do with cooking, but not disorders. I may try and read this once I have the free time. Thanks for sharing.
