Reading Notes, week 15 Nelson

Maggie Nelson, Author of The Red Parts about the trial and conviction of Gary Leiterman. She writes for her childhood and to share these trial cases.
Nelson also focuses on the idea of grieving and how one can do so successfully, she is mourning the loss of a family member but also so involved in the case on a work side and not so personal way.
Nelson does not just stick to one genre of writing but has many different books that express different topics.
She goes beyond the surfaces to really bring her readers all the details and it seems like her readers and conveying a good story to them is her main priority in writing.
Nelson writing was rewarded for "extraordinary originality"

For project number 2 I plan on writing about the topic Choose one short story or novel excerpt. Write a piece in which you explore the following: In what ways could this story be considered an artifact of history? What does this story teach us about history? I really enjoyed reading this story so I think further discussing it will be good. Topic research

The project topic I will choose is " "Explore the relationship between elements of the selection. For example: how does setting influence character development?".  The key elements needed for this project will be for me to focus on one element, and how that connects another element and the relationship those two have. I am choosing this topic because I like to see how a story comes toghether through the interaction of different elements. I have found that while all elements in a story are important to move the story along the key elements I will choose from will be setting, character, plot or point of view. upon further research, I think I will explore the relationship between character and setting.

The stock, week 8

The more I review how far I have long in the class the better I feel about it. I am sure that now I am up to date on backing up up my blog post and I have taken stock of where I am in the class. I have read all of the announcements that have been posted and I am on track.
